Summary
Description
Assists servers and bartenders in providing a good dining experience for customers. Primarily responsible for taking food from the kitchen and delivering it to customers at their tables.
Essential
Duties and Responsibilities
- This position often perform several duties within the restaurant. These duties include:
- Explain specials, drinks and meals to customers
- Make food and drink recommendations to customers based on their preferences
- Deliver food to customer tables in a timely manner
- Ensure food is accurately distributed to customers
- Explain food orders, special requests to kitchen staff
- Follow sanitation and food health safety rules and regulations
- Check on restaurant guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and to address any issues or requests
- Take dirty dishes off of the table and into the washing room
- Let restaurant management know about customer feedback or requests
Physical
Demands
• Frequently required to bend,
stoop, crouch, and reach.
• Frequently
requires the ability to lift up to 20 or more pounds of material.
• Occasionally
requires the ability to lift up to a 50 pound of material.
• Frequently
requires the ability to stand and walk throughout work shift.
• Frequently
requires the ability to move about the establishment.
Working
Conditions
- Majority of work is conducted
in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- The noise
level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Occasionally
works near moving vehicles.
- Occasionally,
exposed to exhaust fumes.
